14.04.2026: Sikkim Governor extends greetings on Ambedkar Jayanti

On the occasion of 135 birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Dr. B R Ambedkar, Sikkim Governor, Shri Om Prakash Mathur has extended greetings to the people of Sikkim and the nation.

In his message, the Governor said, “On the special occasion of the birth anniversary of the principal architect of our Constitution, Dr B R Ambedkar, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all.

Baba Ambedkar remains a symbol of ideals and principles, his invaluable contributions fostering equality, liberty, compassion, and unity in Indian society. His visionary ideals, rooted in the relentless pursuit of social justice, continue to serve as a beacon of hope and an unwavering source of inspiration for all. Dr. Ambedkar dedicated his life to building an inclusive and equitable society.

Sikkim has unique cultural indentity -‘Unity in Diversity’. People of different communities, religions and castes live here in harmony and respect each other’s cultures, traditions and festivals, and that is our true strength. To further strengthen this Sikkim’s unique cultural identity, let us take a pledge to imbibe the principles and ideals of Dr Ambedkar in our lives.

On this occasion, I urge all citizens to resolve to adopt his ideals, promote social harmony, unity and uphold the values enshrined in our Constitution.

अपने संदेश में राज्यपाल महोदय ने कहा, “संविधान के शिल्पकार और सामाजिक न्याय के पुरोधा, भारत रत्न डॉ. भीमराव आंबेडकर जी की 135वीं जयंती के अवसर पर सिक्किम वासियों को शुभकामनायें प्रेषित करता हूँ |
बाबा साहेब का मानना था कि राष्ट्र की प्रगति तभी संभव है जब पूरा समाज एकजुट होकर कार्य करे। एक समावेशी समाज के निर्माण के प्रति उनका अथक प्रयास उनकी प्रतिबद्धता की अनूठी मिसाल है।
बाबा साहेब ने सदैव समाज के पिछड़े और वंचित वर्गों को मुख्यधारा में लाने के लिए संघर्ष किया। उनके योगदान ने भारतीय समाज में समता, ममता और एकता को स्थापित करने में महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है।
हमारा राज्य सिक्किम विविध संस्कृतियों का घर है, जहाँ हर समुदाय अपनी विशेष संस्कृति, भाषा और परंपराओं के साथ सद्भावपूर्ण तरीके से रहता है। यह विविधता हमारी सबसे बड़ी शक्ति है। इस विशेष पहचान को और अधिक मजबूती प्रदान करने के लिए हमें बाबा साहेब के आदर्शों को अपने दैनिक जीवन में आत्मसात करना होगा।
इस अवसर पर मैं सभी नागरिकों से आह्वान करता हूँ कि हम सब मिलकर यह संकल्प लें कि बाबा साहेब के आदर्शों को अपने जीवन में उतारेंगे, सामाजिक समरसता को बढ़ावा देंगे और संविधान में निहित मूल्यों की रक्षा करेंगे।
आइए, हम सब मिलकर बाबा साहेब के सपनों के भारत के निर्माण में योगदान दें—एक ऐसा भारत जो न्यायपूर्ण, समतामूलक और सभी के लिए अवसरों से परिपूर्ण हो। यही उनके प्रति हमारी सच्ची श्रद्धांजलि होगी।
