19.05.2026 : Deputy Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India, Shri Laxmi Prasad Sharma, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Sikkim today.

Deputy Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India, Shri Laxmi Prasad Sharma, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Lok Bhavan today.

Shri Sharma, a native of Sikkim, is presently posted in New Delhi following his recent promotion.

During the interaction, Shri Sharma briefed the Governor on various digital initiatives being implemented by the National Informatics Centre to strengthen digital governance and enhance public service delivery in the State.

On the occasion, Shri Sharma presented a copy of the Bhagavad Gita to the Governor as a gesture of goodwill and respect. The meeting concluded on a cordial note with discussions centred on the growing role of technology-driven governance and efficient digital services for the public.

सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से आज लोकभवन में भारत सरकार के राष्ट्रीय सूचना विज्ञान केंद्र (NIC) के उप महानिदेशक श्री एल.पी. शर्मा ने शिष्टाचार भेंट की। मूल रूप से सिक्किम निवासी श्री शर्मा पदोन्नति के पश्चात वर्तमान में नई दिल्ली में कार्यरत हैं।

मुलाकात के दौरान श्री शर्मा ने राज्यपाल महोदय के साथ सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी के क्षेत्र में हो रही प्रगति पर चर्चा की। इस अवसर पर श्री शर्मा ने अपनी लिखित पुस्तक ‘सरकारी कर्मचारियों के लिए भगवद गीता’ राज्यपाल को भेंट की। गीता के उपदेशों पर आधारित यह पुस्तक सरकारी सेवकों को तनावमुक्त रहने और अपने कर्तव्यों का निष्ठापूर्वक पालन करने की दिशा में मार्गदर्शन प्रदान करने की दिशा में लिखी गई है।
