27.05.2026 : Lieutenant General VM Bhuvana Krishnan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Command, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim today.

Lieutenant General VM Bhuvana Krishnan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Command, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Lok Bhavan today.
Lieutenant General Manraj Singh Mann, SM**, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Trishakti Corps, and Major General Ashish Negi, VSM, General Officer Commanding of the Black Cat Division, were also present during the meeting.
During the courtesy call, discussions were held on strengthening mutual cooperation between the State and the Army.

The Governor lauded the contribution of the Indian Army, stating that it not only safeguards the nation’s borders but also plays a vital role in social welfare and developmental activities across the country.

आज लोकभवन, में भारतीय सेना की पूर्वी कमान के जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग-इन-चीफ, लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल वी. एम. भुवन कृष्णन, पीवीएसएम, एवीएसएम, वाईएसएम ने माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से शिष्टाचार भेंट की।

इस अवसर पर त्रिशक्ति कोर के जीओसी, लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मनराज सिंह मान, एसएम** तथा मेजर जनरल आशीष नेगी, वीएसएम, जीओसी ब्लैक कैट डिवीजन भी उपस्थित रहे।

बैठक के दौरान सामरिक महत्व के विषय पर विचारों का आदान- प्रदान हुआ साथ ही राज्य और सेना के बीच आपसी सहयोग और विकास से जुड़े विषयों पर सार्थक चर्चा हुई।

माननीय राज्यपाल ने भारतीय सेना के योगदान की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि सेना न केवल राष्ट्र की सीमाओं की सुरक्षा करती है, बल्कि सामाजिक सहयोग और विकास कार्यों में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रही है।
