29.06.2026 : The Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur graced the Rajya Puruskar Award Distribution Ceremony of the Bharat Scouts and Guides held at the Conference Hall of Lok Bhavan today.
The Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur graced the Rajya Puruskar Award Distribution Ceremony of the Bharat Scouts and Guides held at the Conference Hall of Lok Bhavan today.
During the ceremony, the Governor presented the Rajya Puraskar Awards to 24 Scouts & Guides of Sikkim (15 Guides and 9 Scouts).
Addressing the gathering, the Governor congratulated the students (Rajya Puraskar awardees) and said that the Bharat Scouts and Guides Rajya Puraskar award is not just recognition but a responsibility to continue serving with greater zeal. He exhorted them to uphold the values of discipline, service and patriotism and work for a stronger, united and developed India.
The Governor highlighted its role in nurturing discipline, moral values, leadership qualities and a spirit of service among the youth.
The Governor said that the Nation stands on the shoulders of its youth. “As Scouts and Guides, you embody the spirit of ‘Nation First.’ This spirit must guide you in every endeavour, inspiring you to contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat” said the Governor.
He further encouraged the youth to play a proactive role in contributing towards the realisation of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The Governor applauded the vibrant culture performances by the children with the theme of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” where they showcased women empowerment and Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage.
During the programme, children also shared their experiences.
The award ceremony was attended by the State Commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Shri D. B. Chettri, state office bearers, scout masters, parents and Scouts & Guides from the State.
भारत स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स, सिक्किम राज्य पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह
लोकभवन सम्मेलन कक्ष में आज भारत स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स, सिक्किम राज्य द्वारा आयोजित राज्य पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह में माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने गरिमामय उपस्थिति दर्ज की।
इस अवसर पर राज्यपाल महोदय को स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स के स्टेट कमिश्नर श्री डी. बी. छेत्री एवं स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स परिवार की ओर से सम्मान स्वरूप स्कार्फ भेंट किया गया।
तत्पश्चात राज्यपाल महोदय ने 24 राज्य पुरस्कार विजेताओं -15 गाइड्स और 9 स्काउट्स को प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान कर सम्मानित किया गया।
अपने संबोधन में राज्यपाल महोदय ने कहा कि भारत स्काउट्स एंड गाइड्स युवाओं को जिम्मेदार नागरिक और भविष्य के नेतृत्वकर्ता के रूप में तैयार करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रहा है। उन्होंने पुरस्कार प्राप्तकर्ताओं को बधाई देते हुए कहा कि यह सम्मान उनकी सेवा, अनुशासन और समाज के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता का प्रतीक है।
इस दौरान बच्चों द्वारा साँस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किया गया जिसकी राज्यपाल महोदय ने सराहना करते हुए कहा कि इन प्रस्तुतियों में नारी सशक्तिकरण,सिक्किम की समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विरासत और ‘एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत’ की भावना परिलक्षित हुई है।
राज्यपाल महोदय ने सभी पुरस्कार प्राप्तकर्ताओं से स्काउट प्रतिज्ञा और नियमों को पालन करने का आह्वान करते हुए कहा कि सच्चा नेतृत्व विनम्रता, सत्यनिष्ठा और करुणा के साथ दूसरों की सेवा करने में निहित है। उन्होंने युवाओं से राष्ट्र सर्वोपरि के सिद्धांत को जीवन में अपनाने का आग्रह किया।
इस दौरान बच्चों द्वारा अनुभवों को भी साझा किया गया।
कार्यक्रम में राज्य पदाधिकारियों,स्काउट मास्टर्स,गाइड कैप्टन और बच्चों की उपस्थिती रही।
