26.07.2026 : On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Sikkim Governor visited Sikkim Prerna Sthal, Bardang and paid homage to the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives during Kargil War of 1999.
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Sikkim Governor, Shri Om Prakash Mathur visited Sikkim Prerna Sthal, Bardang under Pakyong District today and paid homage to the fallen heroes and the brave Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during Kargil War of 1999.
The Governor was joined by the GOC of Black Cat Division, Deorali,
Major General Ashish Negi, Army Officers and jawans and officials from Pakyong district administration.
Commemorating Kargil Vijay Diwas, two minutes silence was observed in remembrance of the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the country.
Later, the Governor inspected the ongoing developmental works at the Sikkim Prerna Sthal premises. Reviewing the progress of works with army officers and district officials, he instructed officials to complete the pending works at the earliest, in strict adherence to quality.
He also interacted with the jawans present on the occasion, offered them sweets and praised their unwavering service to the nation.
कारगिल विजय दिवस के अवसर पर सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने आज बारदांग स्थित ‘सिक्किम प्रेरणा स्थल’ पर कारगिल युद्ध के वीर नायकों और देश की सीमाओं की रक्षा के लिए अपने प्राणों की आहुति देने वाले भारतीय सेना के शहीदों को पुष्पचक्र (Wreath Laying) अर्पित कर श्रद्धांजलि दी।
इस दौरान माननीय राज्यपाल सहित ब्लैक कैट डिविजन के जीओसी मेजर जनरल आशीष नेगी एवं उपस्थित भारतीय सेना के जवानों, उच्च अधिकारियों के साथ देश की संप्रभुता और अखंडता की रक्षा के लिए भारतीय सैनिकों द्वारा दिखाए गए साहस, देशभक्ति और सर्वोच्च बलिदान को याद करते हुए कुछ पल का मौन रखा।
श्रद्धांजलि कार्यक्रम के उपरांत, माननीय राज्यपाल ने प्रेरणा स्थल परिसर में चल रहे विभिन्न विकास कार्यों का निरीक्षण किया। उन्होंने अधिकारियों से कार्य की प्रगति की समीक्षा की और इस स्मारक की गरिमा के अनुरूप सभी निर्माण कार्यों को उच्च गुणवत्ता के साथ समय पर पूरा करने पर जोर दिया।इसके अलावा, राज्यपाल महोदय ने वहां उपस्थित भारतीय सेना के जवानों की हौसला अफजाई की और मिठाई वितरण की।
