Shri G T Dhungel, the Minister for Health and Family Welfare Department called on the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Lok Bhavan today.

During the courtesy meeting, the Minister formally invited the Governor to grace the inauguration of Sikkim’s first Organ Transplantation Centre and Post Transplant ICU at STNM hospital, scheduled to be held on 15 August 26.

The Governor accepted the invitation to attend the inaugural ceremony.

The minister was accompanied by the Secretary of the Department, Shri Tshewang Gyachho.

The establishment of Organ Transplantation Centre at STNM hospital will mark a new chapter and a major milestone in strengthening advanced tertiary healthcare services in the State.

आज लोकभवन में स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण, संस्कृति तथा आयुष विभाग के माननीय मंत्री श्री जी. टी. ढुंगेल तथा विभागीय सचिव श्री छेवांग ग्याछो भूटिया ने माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से शिष्टाचार भेंट की।

इस अवसर पर माननीय मंत्री ने राज्यपाल महोदय को स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण विभाग द्वारा राज्य का पहला अंग प्रत्यारोपण केन्द्र एवं पोस्ट ट्रांसप्लांट आईसीयू के उद्घाटन समारोह में गरिमामयी उपस्थिति हेतु सादर आमंत्रण किया।

माननीय राज्यपाल द्वारा इस अवसर पर उद्घाटन करने की सहमति प्रदान की गई है।

यह केन्द्र सिक्किम में स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं के क्षेत्र में एक महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि सिद्ध होगा।
