In his message, the Hon’ble Governor said:
“On the sacred occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the people of Sikkim.
The auspicious festival of Janmashtami reminds us of the divine teachings associated with the life of Lord Krishna, which always guide us towards the eternal triumph of righteousness over unrighteousness. The divine teachings imparted through the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita remain relevant even in the present era. His philosophy of selfless action and the welfare of society inspires us to serve society and the nation with a spirit of selflessness.
On this sacred occasion, let us resolve to imbibe the ideals of Lord Krishna in our lives. At the same time, in keeping with the glorious traditions of our state, let us further strengthen mutual brotherhood, peace, harmony and unity.
I pray that the blessings of Shri Krishna may fill the lives of every citizen of Sikkim with happiness, prosperity, good health and peace.

जन्माष्टमी का पावन पर्व हमें भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के जीवन से जुड़ी दिव्य शिक्षाओं का स्मरण कराता है जो हमें सदैव अधर्म पर धर्म और असत्य पर सत्य की शाश्वत विजय का मार्ग दिखाता है। श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता के माध्यम से दिया गया दिव्य उपदेश आज के युग में भी अत्यंत प्रासंगिक है। निष्काम कर्म और लोक-मंगल का दर्शन हमें निस्वार्थ भाव से समाज और राष्ट्र की सेवा करने की प्रेरणा देता है।
