15.09.2026 : Shri G T Dhungel, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Department called on Governor of Sikkim Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Lok Bhavan today.

Shri G T Dhungel, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Department called on Governor of Sikkim Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Lok Bhavan today and extended an invitation to dedicate the Helen Lepcha Sikkim Government Medical College to the people of the state.

The ceremony will also mark the start of the first medical course in the college.

The commemoration ceremony of first State Government Medical College is scheduled to be held on 18 September, 2026 at college premises following which the main function will be held at Manan Kendra.

The Governor graciously accepted the invitation and extended his best wishes.

The minister was accompanied by Health and Family Welfare Department, Secretary Tshewang Gyachho and Dean of Medical College.

सिक्किम के माननीय स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण, संस्कृति और आयुष मंत्री श्री जी.टी. ढुंगेल ने आज राजभवन में माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से शिष्टाचार भेंट की। इस अवसर पर स्वास्थ्य विभाग के सचिव श्री छेवांग ग्यात्छो और ‘हेलेन लेप्चा सिक्किम गवर्नमेंट मेडिकल कॉलेज’ के डीन डॉ. विक्रम खड़का भी उपस्थित रहे।

इस मुलाकात के दौरान, स्वास्थ्य मंत्री ने राज्यपाल महोदय को आगामी 18 सितंबर 2026 को हेलेन लेप्चा सिक्किम गवर्नमेंट मेडिकल कॉलेज के आरंभ होने के अवसर पर आयोजित समारोह में आमंत्रित किया।
इस समारोह की शुरुआत सोचगांग स्थित ‘हेलेन लेप्चा सिक्किम गवर्नमेंट मेडिकल कॉलेज’ परिसर में होगी जिसके बाद मुख्य कार्यक्रम मनन केंद्र में आयोजित किया जाएगा।

राज्यपाल महोदय ने आमंत्रण को स्वीकार करते हुए राज्य के इस पहले सरकारी चिकित्सा संस्थान की शुरुआत पर अपनी शुभकामनाएं दीं हैं।
