Sikkim Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur interacted with a group of 16 Indian Information Service (IIS) trainee officers today at Lok Bhavan Gangtok.
The delegation of IIS trainee officers are currently undergoing training at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. They are in Sikkim as part of their Bharat Darshan programme.
The Commissioner cum Secretary Lok Bhavan, Shri Jitendra Singh Raje welcomed the trainnee officers on behalf of Lok Bhavan Sikkim.
At the outset, a brief introduction session was held during which the IIS officers introduced themselves and apprised the Governor of their Sikkim visit.
While interacting with officers, the Governor warmly welcomed them. He highlighted various aspects and developmental initiatives of Sikkim.
The Governor stated that Sikkim is model state in the country for various aspects mainly organic farming, cleanliness, low crime against women, women empowerment, environmental conservation, rich cultural heritage and sustainable development.
He mentioned about Sikkim’s best practices and policies adopted by the State.
The Governor said “We have so much to learn from Sikkim, the state has today become one of the most progressive states in India.”
The Governor conveyed his best wishes to the officer trainees for a successful and impactful career dedicated to serving the nation.
During the interaction, the trainee officers shared their observations from their visit.

भारतीय जनसंचार संस्थान, नई दिल्ली में प्रशिक्षणरत भारतीय सूचना सेवा (IIS) 2025 बैच के प्रशिक्षु अधिकारियों के एक दल ने आज लोकभवन में सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से शिष्टाचार भेंट की।
इस दौरान राज्यपाल महोदय के आयुक्त सह सचिव श्री जितेंद्र सिंह राजे ने उपस्थित सभी का लोकभवन की ओर से स्वागत किया।
देश के विभिन्न राज्यों के अधिकारी वर्तमान में अपने ‘भारत दर्शन’ कार्यक्रम के तहत देश भर के अध्ययन दौरे पर हैं, जिसके हिस्से के रूप में वे सिक्किम प्रवास पर आए हैं।
इस मुलाकात के दौरान, प्रशिक्षु अधिकारियों ने माननीय राज्यपाल के साथ विस्तृत बातचीत की और दीर्घकालिक अनुभवों से मार्गदर्शन प्राप्त किया। बातचीत के दौरान अधिकारियों ने अपने विचार साझा किए।
अधिकारियों से संवाद करते हुए माननीय
राज्यपाल ने उन्हें राज्य के प्रमुख क्षेत्रों, विशेष रूप से सिक्किम के पर्यटन मॉडल, पर्यावरण संरक्षण और यहाँ की अनुशासित ‘स्वच्छता’ नीति के बारे में विस्तार से चर्चा की।
राज्यपाल महोदय ने राष्ट्र निर्माण की दिशा में कदम बढ़ा रहे इन सभी अधिकारियों के उज्ज्वल भविष्य की कामना की।अधिकारियों के इस दल ने भी सिक्किम प्रवास के दौरान मिले इस मार्गदर्शन और आतिथ्य के लिए माननीय राज्यपाल महोदय के प्रति अपना गहरा आभार व्यक्त किया है।
