Lok Bhavan, Sikkim celebrated the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) at Lok Bhavan premises today, commemorating the 151th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the “Iron Man of India”, whose vision and leadership were instrumental in uniting the nation.
The Commissioner cum Secretary Lok Bhavan, Shri Jitendra Singh Raje,
officers and staff paid floral tributes and homage to the great freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at his statue, honouring his enduring legacy of unity, integrity and nation-building.
The Commissioner cum Secretary said that Patel’s contribution, sacrifice and devotion in the service of the country serve as a great source of inspiration.
Sardar Patel served as India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister and played a historic role in integrating more than 560 princely states to build a united and strong India of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
During the programme, officials and staff took the pledge, reaffirming the collective commitment to national integration, harmony and security.
लोक भवन परिसर में राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस के अवसर पर माल्यार्पण कार्यक्रम आयोजित
राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस के अवसर पर आज लोकभवन सिक्किम परिसर में भारत के लौह पुरुष सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल की जयंती श्रद्धापूर्वक मनाई गई।
इस अवसर पर सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री दुष्यन्त गौतम की ओर से आयुक्त-सह-सचिव श्री जितेंद्र सिंह राजे ने लोकभवन परिसर में स्थित सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल की प्रतिमा पर माल्यार्पण कर उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की।
कार्यक्रम में राजभवन सचिवालय के अधिकारी एवं कर्मचारी उपस्थित रहे। माल्यार्पण के पश्चात उपस्थित सभी अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों ने देश की एकता, अखंडता और सुरक्षा को बनाए रखने के लिए राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस की शपथ ली।
इस अवसर पर आयुक्त-सह-सचिव ने राष्ट्रीय एकता और अखंडता के महान शिल्पकार ‘लौह पुरुष’ सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल जी को नमन करते हुए कहा कि भारत को एक सूत्र में पिरोने का उनका अतुल्य योगदान और राष्ट्र के प्रति अटूट समर्पण, हम सभी को सदैव प्रेरित करता रहेगा|
सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल स्वतंत्र भारत के प्रथम उप प्रधानमंत्री और गृह मंत्री थे। देश की 500 से अधिक रियासतों का एकीकरण कर अखंड भारत के निर्माण में उनकी ऐतिहासिक भूमिका के कारण उन्हें “भारत का लौह पुरुष” कहा जाता है। देश की अखंडता और संप्रभुता में उनके अतुलनीय योगदान के सम्मान में प्रतिवर्ष 31 अक्टूबर को उनकी जयंती ‘राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस’ के रूप में मनाई जाती है।
