V Rama Rao
V Rama Rao was born on 12 December 1935 in a Telugu Brahmin Family in a place, near Machilipatnam situated in present-day Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh.
Shri V. Rama Rao served as Governor of Sikkim from 2002–2007. During his tenure at Raj Bhavan in Sikkim, the individual took several initiatives to enhance and improve various aspects of the establishment. Some notable highlights include:
Securing Perimeters: Efforts were made to demarcate and fence the Raj Bhavan’s boundaries, which previously lacked clear boundaries due to the presence of multiple State and Central Government Departments within its premises.
Winter Camp: The Raj Bhavan started functioning from a winter camp located in Rangpo, providing a new experience and connecting with different regions of the state.
Modern Office Establishment: The entire office setup was modernized, introducing video-conferencing for better interaction with the Central Government.
Banquet Hall: Aashirwad Bhavan, a banquet hall, was constructed within the Raj Bhavan premises to host official functions and events, reducing dependence on the State Government.
Staff Welfare: The living conditions of the staff were improved with the construction of a new housing complex equipped with essential amenities and recreation facilities.
Interaction with Civil Society: The individual made efforts to stay connected with the civil society and the general public to understand the ground realities of the state and foster integration with the rest of India.
Engaging with People: The Governor made regular visits to gram panchayats, interacting with various groups, NGOs, villagers, and government officials at the grassroots level to understand their needs and issues.
Relations with Officials: The Governor maintained close relations with current and retired government officials, inviting them to Raj Bhavan and addressing their grievances.

Shri V. Rama Rao passed away at Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad on 17 January 2016.
