Lord Buddha Statue Poised to grace Raj Bhavan

 

In a momentous initiative led by the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, a Lord Buddha statue is poised to grace Raj Bhavan. Emphasizing the universal significance of Lord Buddha’s teachings, the Governor expressed the importance of installing the statue at the Raj Bhavan premises.

In a series of events at Raj Bhavan Sikkim under “Hamro Sankalp: Viksit Bharat Pushpit Sikkim,” the Hon’ble Governor, alongside the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, and the Hon’ble Union Minister of State for DoNER, Shri B.L. Verma, initiated the auspicious foundation stone-laying ceremony for the forthcoming Buddha statue.

Later, the construction was blessed by the 41st Sakya Ghongma Trinchen Dorjichang, the supreme head of the Sakya sect, marking a significant milestone in the Governor’s visionary initiative.
