Tulips at Raj Bhavan

Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Raj Bhavan Sikkim initiated ‘Hamro Sankalp: Viksit Bharat, Pushpit Sikkim’, introducing vibrant tulip flowers within the premises. The Hon’ble Governor expressed this symbolic move reflects the resilience and determination of Sikkim’s people. Traditionally associated with regions like Jammu and Kashmir, the presence of tulips in Sikkim brings widespread joy. The Raj Bhavan community resolved to introduce various tulip cultivars sourced from the Netherlands, including Tulipa Escape, Tulipa Pink Odor, Tulipa Royal Virgin, Tulipa Novi Sun, and Tulipa Triple-Red. Extensive research and meticulous planning, including soil analysis, environmental suitability assessment, and expert guidance, ensured the success of this endeavor.
