    09.03.2024 : Hon’ble Governor virtually participated the inauguration of various projects across northeastern region by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in Itanagar Arunachal Pradesh.

    In alignment with the visionary vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, towards Viksit Bharat Viksit Northeast, the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, virtually participated in the inauguration and commencement of various developmental projects across the northeastern region by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.

    Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Prime Minister highlighted the program’s extensive reach to over a thousand participants, facilitated by technological advancements, emphasizing the inclusion of women. He expressed his vision, Asthalaximi, for the prosperity of the northeastern states and praised the region as a fundamental pillar in the nation’s progress.

    The Hon’ble Prime Minister commended the northeast as the bedrock of the nation’s development, foreseeing that the holistic progress of the region will play a pivotal role in achieving a developed India by 2047 under the Viksit Bharat initiative.

    Additionally, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects across the Northeast region during the event in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.

    Among the projects, he virtually laid the foundation stone for a multipurpose community centre in the Soreng district and inaugurated the upgrade and construction of a new road from Tharpu to Daramdin.

    Furthermore, he launched the Unnati Yojna 2024 a transformative industrial development scheme named UNNATI (Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialisation) for the region. UNNATI aims to strengthen the industrial ecosystem, attract new investments, facilitate the establishment of new manufacturing and services units, and bolster employment opportunities across the region.

    Present in the program were, the Secretary of the Planning & Development Department, Shri Rinzing Chewang Bhutia, who shared valuable insights about the program, also present were Mayor Shri Neil Chettri, Deputy Mayor Smt Tshering Palden, councillors from Gangtok Municipal Corporation, Officers from various departments and the general public.
