Honorable Governor inaugurates new Post Office building at Pakyong on 19th January 2021.

Pakyong, January 19: Honorable Governor Shri Ganga Prasad inaugurated the new building of the Post Office of India at Pakyong today. The Honorable Governor unveiled the plaque of the new Post Office building and released a special envelope cover of the Post Office of India. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Honorable MLA cum Chairman of STCS, Shri Bishnu Khatiwara as the guest of honor, Chief Postmaster General of West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar, Shri Mervin Alexander and Postmaster General of North Bengal, Sikkim Region Shri Joshep Lalrinsailova, officials of Pakyong Sub-Division and general public.

Honorable Governor in his addressed thanked Post Office of India for having concern for the people of Pakyong Sub-Division and congratulated the people of Pakyong and said that the new post office will open up a new space for commitment and importance of postal and to meet the increasing demand and expectations of various governmental schemes.

The Honorable Governor also urged the people of Pakyong to utilize optimum use of post office.

Honorable also handed over the passbook on Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana to a local girl child who opened their account in the Post Office on the inaugural day. 

Chief Postmaster General, Shri Mervin Alexander said that the Pakyong Post Office will provide all types of services including postal life insurance, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, postal payment bank facilities and people of Pakyong Sub-Division will be benefitted.
