In a special function held at Raj Bhavan on 13th  March, 2019, Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Ganga Prasad, also the Patron- In- Chief of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Sikkim conferred ‘Rajya Puraskar’ to 15 Guides contingents  and 07 Scoutscontingents from nine different schools  spread across three of  districts of  Sikkim.

Hon’ble Governor also handed over Leader Trainer Certificate to Mr.  C.K Sapkota and Assistant Leader Trainer Certificate to Mr. BhimSubba on the occasion.Dr. H.P. Chettri, State Chief Commissioner, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Sikkim, State Secretary and Treasurer of the organisation, Assistant State Training Commissioner of  Guides  were present on the occasion.

Dr. Chettri provided the detailed insight into the activities and camps of the Bharat Scouts & Guides in Sikkim, and the competitions for the nomination of Rajya Puraskar.

While addressing the contingents, Hon’ble Governor urged them to use the training they have gained for the service of society and the nation. He also stressed on the organisation’s role in grooming the youth to be self-reliant and serve as a platform to  motivate and encourage the student to aim big in life. The organisation should train the scouts and guides in leadership and selfless service in society, Hon’ble Governor added.

            The awardees will now compete for the next year’s  Rashtrapati Award through National Level Testing Camp.
