CONDOLENCE  MESSAGE

Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Ganga Prasad has expressed deep sadness and grief on the demise of Shri Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa following prolonged illness at Panjim, Goa.

In his condolence message, Hon’ble Governor wrote “I am deeply shocked  and saddened by the news of untimely demise of  Shri Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa at his residence in Panzim, Goa, yesterday evening.

Though I was aware of his illness, it was unexpected that  he would leave us at this moment. Having served as a sincere Karyakartain BharatiyaJanta Party his rise in the Indian Polity, first as the Chief Minister of Goa State and Union Defence Minister under Prime Minister Modiji, Late Parrikar has epitomised simplicity, dedication and diligence in discharging his responsibilities. Identified as a common man with uncommon stature and persona, Late Parrikar has set a benchmark for aspiring  leaders  keeping nation’s interest above self in his illustrious public life. Late Parrikar will be remembered as an able administrator, people’s leader, true organisational man and one of the finest leader of BharatiyaJanta Party from western region of the country. With his demise, the country has lost an exemplary leader, a nationalist and a statesman in true sense, who always worked for the larger interest of the masses till his last breath.

At this time of bereavement, I join the people of Sikkim and my fellow countrymen to offer my deepest condolences. I pray to the almighty for bestowing strength to his family members to cope with this irreparable loss.”
