          Hon`ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Ganga Prasad today granted audience to a  group of 22 Indian Police Service Probationers 2018 batch from Sardar Ballavbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad  at Raj Bhavan. The group was led by  Shri Bhupender Kumar, Asstt. Commandant, SPNPA.

              It was a courtesy call by the group which is in Sikkim  for Study-cum Cultural Tour from June 17 to June 29, 2019 as mandatory part of their training activity. They will be touring different parts of the State and get first hand knowledge on the professional police practises alongside their cultural tour to various places of interest in Sikkim.

Shri Bhupender Kumar, Asstt. Commandant apprised the Hon`ble Governor about the details of the study cum cultural tour of the group and the activities the group will be undertaking during their stay in Sikkim. He also provided the insight into the training module and phases the probationers are subjected to complete in the academy.

Addressing the officers, Hon`ble Governor gave a brief insight into the uniqueness of Sikkim as a beautiful Himalayan Organic State.

He also talked about the need of practical policing in the wake of various complexities evolving in the society. Hon`ble governor further urged the young officers to fulfil the expectation that the society and parents have on them after getting selected in the elite Indian Police Service.  He extended best wishes for their successful career ahead and  wished them a  memorable stay in Sikkim.

There was also an interactive session of the group members with the Governor where some members raised their queries on Sikkim`s tourism potential and police practices.
