Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Shriniwas Patil today at Raj Bhavan felicitated a group of 29 riders belonging to ‘One India Ride’, a car expedition travelling to 29 States and 5 Union Territories covering a total distance of 15000 kms in 31 days.
The car rally flagged off by Governor of Haryana on 13th April 2017 at Chandigarh has reached Gangtok on 19th April 2017 morning on its way to Guwahati. The rally will culminate in New Delhi on 13th May 2017.
Shri Pritpal Singh Pannu, Chairman, National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (NIFFA) one of the organisation participating in the rally, provided a brief outline on the purpose of the rally. He stated that national integration, communal harmony and cultural synthesis has been the main objective of the event which is organised to commemorate Haryana Swarna Utsav this year.
Hon’ble Governor lauded the organisations supporting and participating in the event and extended best wishes for successful completion of the Rally. He urged the organiser to be more inclusive and accommodating while selecting the participants from different community including women. Hon’ble Governor also suggested to create network of empowered and self reliant youth across the country for stronger and prosperous India.
